amp Trillium LLC, the joint venture between ampCNG and Trillium CNG, has announced the opening of the area's first public-access compressed natural gas station.

The station is located at 107 Tilton Road SE near exit 326 on Interstate 75. With Trillium CNG's proprietary fast-fill hydraulic intensifier compressor (HY-C), this new location enables three Class-8 trucks to fuel simultaneously at 10 diesel-gallon-equivalents per minute. To celebrate the new station, amp Trillium is offering an opening special price of US$1.99 per gasoline gallon equivalent (gge) to all customers.

This station marks ampCNG's second compressed natural gas station in Georgia; in March 2014, amp Trillium opened a station in Perry to service Frito-Lay's fleet. The Dalton station, which will service Dalton Utilities' fleet, is only the second public access CNG station in northern Georgia.

Donna Rolf, President of ampCNG, said: "amp Trillium is pleased to open its latest station in Dalton. This is a major US manufacturing hub and a key gateway between Atlanta and the Midwest. This new CNG refuelling station will help the many local manufacturers meet their supply chain sustainability goals and serve CNG-powered trucks traveling along I-75 in Georgia, one of the country's major freight corridors."

Carl Campbell, Executive Director at Dalton-Whitfield Joint Development Authority, added: "We believe the amp Trillium station will be an asset to our manufacturing and distribution community. This station will give area fleet managers choices in the type of trucks they can put on the road, which helps manage their costs. It also makes our community a more competitive place and more attractive for future corporate investments."

Joel Jansen, vice president of Trillium CNG, said: "We are very happy to be part of these ongoing efforts to build a nationwide CNG fuelling infrastructure. We know Dalton Utilities and other users will find that this station's best-in-class CNG technology delivers a superior fuelling experience."

Mark Buckner, chief business development officer at Dalton Utilities, commented: "We are pleased to have amp Trillium as a customer and are excited about the possibilities that this new compressed natural gas station will bring to our community. We are always looking for ways to set Dalton and Whitfield County apart from the competition. This facility gives us an innovative advantage over other locations that aren't as fortunate to have an asset like the amp Trillium station. We look forward to a great relationship with amp Trillium and wish them the best as they start up this new facility."

amp Trillium now operates 23 CNG stations across the country, including in nearby Perry, Georgia, and Newport, Tennessee. It will continue to open several more in its mission to create a wide-reaching network of CNG refuelling stations along trucking corridors throughout the United States.
