The November 2015 Monthly Energy Review (MER), EIA's primary report of recent and historical energy statistics, was released on 24 November 2015. Preliminary estimates indicate that for August 2015:
- US natural gas consumption totalled 2.1 quadrillion Btu, which represented 26% of US total primary energy consumption. US natural gas production totalled 2.4 quadrillion Btu, which represented 32% of US total primary energy production./li>
- Natural gas accounted for 11% of US primary energy imports and 14% of US primary energy exports./li>
- US natural gas consumption accounted for 74% of commercial sector primary energy consumption, 46% of residential sector primary energy consumption, 42% of industrial sector primary energy consumption, 29% of electric power sector primary energy consumption, and 3% of transportation sector primary energy consumption.
