Preliminary dry gas production for March 2015 was 2,232 billion ft3, or 72.0 billion ft3/d, down from last month’s 72.4 billion ft3/d. March's production was a 3.8 billion ft3/d increase from 68.2 billion ft3/d in March 2014, a 5.5% rise from year to year.
Preliminary total consumption for March 2015 was 2,636 billion ft3, or 85.0 billion ft3/d, an increase of 2.3% from 2,576 billion ft3 in March 2014, or 83.1 billion ft3/d.
Total consumption of dry natural gas for March 2015 decreased in three of four sectors year to year, with the exception being electric power deliveries, which increased significantly from last March:
- Deliveries to residential consumers for March 2015 were 640 billion ft3, or 20.6 billion ft3/d, down 8.6% from 22.6 billion ft3/d in March 2014.
- Commercial deliveries were 389 billion ft3, or 12.5 billion ft3/d, a 7.4% decrease from 13.5 billion ft3/d in March 2014.
- Industrial deliveries were 664 billion ft3, or 21.4 billion ft3/d, down 2.4% from 21.9 billion ft3/d in March 2014.
