It has been reported that Iran’s petrochemical industry has produced 23 million t of petrochemicals so far this Iranian year. 8.5 million t of the petrochemicals produced were exported. The 8 month period was between 21st March and 6th November.

Saudi Aramco have announced plans to construct a refinery in the Jazan industrial estate. Construction of the facility will begin in 2013 and is expected to be complete by the end of 2015 and have a processing capacity of 400 00 bpd.

Total SA, France and Qatar Petroleum are in talks to build a petrochemical facility in Qatar. The US$ 6 billion plant was originally going to be a partnership between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil.

Asia

Indian Oil Corporation Limited is planning to convert the Koyali refinery, Vadodara to a virtual coastal refinery. This will be the first of its kind in the country.

ExxonMobil are planning to expand its Singapore refining complex. The company will be adding a diesel hydrotreater and increasing output of ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD). The additional output at the facility once work it done will total 56 600 bbls and is expected to be online in 2014.

Punj Lloyd has been awarded three contracts for development of refinery and infrastructure projects. Indian Oil Corporation awarded the company a development project for the Orissa refinery worth Rs 1123 crore. Harouge Oil Operations and the West Bengal government have awarded Punj Lloyd the infrastructure contracts.
