Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Nakilat has announced that it has assumed full ship management and operations of the Al Ghashamiya Q-Flex LNG carrier from STASCo (Shell Trading and Shipping Company Ltd).

The acquisition forms part of Nakilat’s planned and phased transition, which was announced in October 2016.

The Al Ghashamiya LNG carrier is wholly-owned by Nakilat and chartered by Qatargas. The LNG carrier was built in South Korea by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and delivered in April 2009.

Al Ghashamiya is the eighth wholly-owned LNG carrier that will come under the management of Nakilat Shipping Qatar Ltd.
