Linde AG, one of the world’s leading gas suppliers and engineering companies, has selected Tableau to analyse data across its global business. With Tableau, Linde AG now has a self-service solution that is improving business response time and decision making across departments.

“Because coding and programming expertise isn’t required, our employees can dig into their own data and get to insights that directly impact their line of business,” said Thomas Steineich, Head of IS Standards & Strategy at Linde AG. “Before Tableau, we would send requests to IT which took a long time and put immense pressure on that team. Now, we work quickly and with agility – for example, when something unforeseen happens, we can look at the data to understand what’s happening and then make the best decision.”

In addition to ease of use and depth of insight for business users, the software also provides key benefits to the IT team at Linde AG. Fast integration of Tableau into the existing IT infrastructure as well as the ability to connect to a large variety of data sources mean quick deployment and flexibility of data integration.

“We see this as just the first step with Tableau. As we gather feedback from the business based on selected pilot projects, implementation will be rolled out step-by-step to other departments,” said Jan Dietrich, Global Process Owner Business Analytics at Linde AG.
