Metso has celebreated the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Greenfield Neles® globe valve technology centre in South Korea on 22 April 2014.

The new technology centre consists of manufacturing, control valve testing facilities, research and development, laboratory, engineering, and service support units for South Korean engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies.

Markus Hauhia, Director of the Globe Valve product line, commented: ‘The new technology centre in South Korea will strengthen our capabilities to develop, produce and deliver our globe valves especially for customers in the oil and gas and power industries. The South Korean EPC companies play an important role in many customer projects worldwide. Within the new facility we can better offer research and development, engineering and service support for them’.

Metso has a total of eight valve technology centres around the world. Recent investment in South Korea continues the company’s strategy to strengthen valve operations globally.
