Expanding American energy production

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

API strongly supports the American Made Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act, calling it a bill to expand US offshore energy production that will create million of American jobs.

‘America’s energy industry stands ready to help our economy back on track,’ said Erik Milito, API upstream and industry operations group director. ‘Expanding America’s vast energy resources will create long term job growth and enhance our nation’s energy security. Congress and the president should embrace the industry’s ability to strengthen this nation’s troubled economy and combat high unemployment.’

‘Every day the oil and natural gas industry generates about US$ 86 million in federal revenue and we can do more,’ said Milito. ‘We have enormous domestic energy resources that can be responsibly produced by Americans for Americans. It’s time to get our neighbours to work and boost our economy by creating new tax payers.’

API expressed support for US Representative Steve Stivers’ (R-OH) and others framework for enhancing the nation’s energy security which will create thousands of jobs and generate billions of dollars in government revenues.

Milito testified on 18th November at the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources hearing on the American Made Energy and Infrastructure Job Act.
