AFPM insists: Zichal wrong on RFS

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) President, Charles T. Drevna, has responded to a statement by White House Energy Adviser, Heather Zichal, in which she called repeal of the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) shortsighted.

According to Drevna, the implementation of the RFS is flawed and irrational; the most glaring example of shortsightedness in the Administration’s energy and climate agenda. The Administration is turning a blind eye on eight years of demonstrable failures. Growing warnings from environmentalists , poultry and meat producers, the boating industry, automakers, outdoor power equipment manufacturers, motorcyclists, snowmobilers, fuel manufacturers and others about fuels that are either unsafe in the amounts mandated, or have damaging environmental consequences are being ignored.

The AFPM President has additionally emphasised that it will be consumers who will be left to pay due to the Administration’s unwillingness to recognise the reality of the RFS; higher fuel and food costs and potential engine damage.
