Lisichansk oil refinery
Installation of a hydro treatment unit reactor has been completed at the Lisichansk oil refinery. The project will bring all diesel fuel produced at the LINIK to conform to Euro-4 requirements.

The hydro treatment unit overhaul came as a part of a US$ 3.1 billion program supported by the Board of Directors of TNK-BP at the end of 2009 aiming at improving motor fuel quality over a five year period. Overall 11 investment projects will be launched in three of the companies main refineries, four of them taking place at the Lisichansk facility.

Saratov oil refinery
The refinery has boosted investment in social programs for its employees to 18.6 million roubles in the first quarter of 2010, an increase of more than 70% on the figure for January – March 2009. Saratov oil refinery is implementing a whole range of social programmes forming part of TNK-BP’s total reward system, including voluntary medical insurance, non-state pensions, recreation and rehabilitation etc.

Also, investment in the renovation and modernisation of the refinery grew to 70 million rubles in the first quarter of this year, nearly double the amount invested during the same period last year.

In 2010 – 2012, TNK-BP is planning to implement a series of large scale investment projects at the refinery. They include the construction of an isomerisation unit, renovation of the diesel hydrotreating unit and sulfur unit, and modernisation of the railway oil product loading rack. The implementation of this investment program, expected to cost US$ 300 million, will allow the refinery to produce competitive products and achieve a leadership position in the industry.

In January – March 2010 the Saratov refinery processed 1586 million t of oil, a 60 000 t increase over the same period last year. During that period, gasoline production increased by 6% and diesel production grew by 2.8%. Fuel oil production was up 16.3% and petroleum bitumen production grew by 8%.
