Jubail
Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Co. has inaugurated an ultra low sulfur diesel unit at the Jubail refinery, Saudi Arabia. The unit has started commercial production of approximately 100 000 bpd of diesel with less than 10 ppm of sulfur. Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Co. is a joint venture company owned by Saudi Aramco and Shell (50:50).

Saudi Aramco and Total SA have announced that they may start their joint refinery earlier than planned. The Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Co. are expecting to ship first oil from the Jubail complex as early as March 2013. The refinery will supply most of its gasoline output to Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Yanbu
Bids have been extended for the solids handling unit at the Saudi Aramco and ConocoPhillips joint venture refinery in Yanbu. Saipem, Techint, Petrofac Ltd, Senet, ThyssenKrupp, Flsmidth and Daelim Industrial Co. are all bidding for the package. The deadline is now 1st June 2010 and has been pushed back twice since the start of the year.
