Linde AG and Praxair discuss potential merger

Praxair, Inc. has confirmed that it is currently in preliminary discussions with Linde AG regarding a potential merger. These discussions are ongoing and there can be no assurance that they will result in a transaction, or on what terms any transaction may occur. Praxair does not intend to comment further at this time.
Should these talks be successfully continued, Linde noted that it will inform the capital market and the public in accordance with statutory requirements.
Praxair, Inc. is a leading industrial gas company in North and South America, and one of the largest worldwide. The company produces, sells and distributes atmospheric, process and specialty gases, and high performance surface coatings.
The Linde Group, registered as Linde AG, is a multinational industrial gases and engineering company founded in Germany in 1879. It is the world's largest industrial gas company by market share as well as revenue.
