Bazco Oil Company

Volunteers from local CITGO Marketer Bazco Oil Company has raised more than US$ 7 000 in support of breast cancer awareness and research in the 23rd Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Detroit. Nearly 20 Bazco Oil employees, family members and friends joined the team and contributed to fundraising efforts, which included station events in May and other promotions.

CB&I

CB&I has been awarded additional contracts by Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (ORPIC) for the Liwa Plastics Project in the Sultanate of Oman. CB&I’s scope of work includes the license and engineering design of three units in addition to the previously announced award for its ethylene technology and FEED services. CB&I will provide the CDMtbe technology for a new 90 000 tpy high conversion MTBE unit, the technology for a 41 000 tpy butene-1 recovery unit, and the NGL-MAX gas processing technology for a new 18 million ft3/d NGL extraction plant. The NGL plant will be the largest single train gas plant designed by CB&I.

Daniel McCarthy, President, CB&I’s Technology Operation Group said, ‘the award of these additional technology contracts demonstrates ORPIC’s confidence in CB&I’s technology portfolio and wide range of services. Our successful project execution has a pull through effect on the entire organisation.’

GAIL

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced un state Assembly the creation of a joint venture with GAIL India Ltd for city gas (CNG) distribution in selected cities in the state. In the first phase for supply of CNG through GAIL, one mother station will be set up in Neemrana, and a daughter station in Jaipur. This venture has been called be a blessing in disguise to all the local residents of Rajasthan, and GAIL India has welcomed the venture with open arms.

Piedmont Natural Gas

Piedmont Natural Gas has given a donation to the THRIVE Campaign, a donor led initiative managed through a partnership with Foundation for the Carolinas, in support of the arts and cultural sector of Charlotte. The company’s gift of US$ 500 000 will help the THRIVE Campaign establish a sustainable platform for long term funding and growth of the arts and culture industry in Charlotte. Funding of the arts in recent years has faced significant challenges due to declines in workplace giving, reduction sin government support for the arts community, and funding models that have not evolved with Charlotte’s changing economy and population growth.

Piedmont Natural Gas has also announced the official opening of its latest compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelling station in Nashville, Tennesse. The new station is the company’s tenth overall and their second in Nashville. Piedmont Senior VP and CFO, Karl Newlin, joined by Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, celebrated the opening of the environmentally friendly CNG fuelling station at an event on 15 July at the station site.

Sandvik

Sandvik and Tenaris have signed a new five year strategic alliance agreement on the exclusive joint supply of corrosion resistant alloy OCTG materials and technology to the oil and gas industry. With this agreement Sandvick and Tenaris are looking to build on an already long established and successful alliance that goes back over a decade.

Michael Andersson, Head of the Tube Product Area, Sandvick said, ‘this strategic alliance will facilitate closer cooperation on future innovations targeting the most demanding applications in the market. Together, our research and development capability will be unmatched in the industry allowing us to develop and offer unique solutions for the most challenging operational environments faced by our customers. With our combined technologies we set the industry standard.’
