North Dakota

Tesoro Corp have announced that repairs have been completed on a gasoline making unit at the company’s 60 000 bpd refinery in Mandan. A fire had damaged the unit in January.

Oklahoma

Holly Corp’s 125 000 bpd Tulsa refinery is facing fines of US$ 62 500 for 14 alleged ‘serious’ violations of federal workplace violations, according to the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The hazards included poor process safety management, inadequate emergency response and evacuation procedures, poor ventilation and failure to eliminate potential ignition sources.

Texas

BP is scheduled to resume production from a unit at its 475 000 bpd Texas City refinery after an upset. The company shut the No. 3 fluid catalytic cracker after a flaring on March 11.

The Chief Executive of Petroleos Mexicanos has announced that the company is seeking to buy a ‘significant’ refining asset in the US during an interview in Houston. The state owned company, Latin America’s largest oil producer, is evaluating several acquisitions as Mexican gasoline demand surges.
