Petro SA is to suspend operations at its Mossel Bay facilities in Western Cape for 37 days in order to carry out routine maintenance. Shutdown will commence on 22nd September 2013.
Kenya
KenolKobil has filed a lawsuit against Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited (KPRL), accusing KPRL of failing to pay for dead stock, which it converted for its own use in breach of their contract.
KenolKobil’s lawyer, Desterio Oyatsi, has said that KPRL has admitted that it converted the dead stock for its use since August 2012 and has not paid for it.
North America
Canada
Imperial Oil Ltd, Canada, has announced that a final decision on the future of its 82 000 bpd refinery in Dartmouth, Noca Scotia, should be reached by the end of the month.
Europe
UK
Hertel has been awarded a long term maintenance contract on one of the UK’s largest refineries, the Lindsay Oil Refinery (LOR) at Immingham. Hertel will provide maintenance services to the facility including access service, thermal insulation and painting.
This latest big contract win will cement a long standing relationship with LOR, spanning nine years.
Ukraine
Ukraine and Azerbaijan are in talks concerning the continuing joint implementation of the Euro Asian Oil Transportation Corridor project, Azerbaijani oil supplies to Ukrainian refineries and its transit to third countries using the Ukrainian oil transportation system.
The countries energy ministers have additionally discussed the possibility of the construction of a new LNG terminal in Ukraine, in addition to a new oil refining complex for Caspian oil deep processing on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine.
