3M

3M has become a member of the Construction CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Certification Service. 3M now offers a 1 hour CPD certified training course covering the topic of Sustainable Fire Suppression options. The aim is to support buyers, designers and providers of fire suppression systems, by presenting up to date information about clean agent fire suppression options, taking into account the changing regulatory landscape.

Ametek

The Analysis Division of the International Society of Automation (ISA) selected Ametek Process Instruments to receive the prestigious Innovative Product of the Year award at the Division Symposium, held April 26 – 29, Galveston, Texas.

APGA

On May 5 it was reported that UPS will fuel some of its natural gas vehicle fleet with renewable natural gas (RNG). According to the DOE, RNG is, “produced from biogas, also known as swamp gas, landfill gas, or digester gas, which is the gaseous product of anaerobic digestion or organic matter…Biogas is usually 50 – 80% methane and 20 – 50% CO2, with traces of gases such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen. In contrast, natural gas is usually more than 70% methane, with most of the rest being other hydrocarbons and traces of CO2 and other contaminants.”

UPS has signed a contract with Clean Energy Fuels Corporation to ensure that parts of its fleet will drive 1 billion miles on RNG by the end of 2017. The stations dispensing the RNG will be located in California including Sacramento, Los Angeles and Fresno; and fuel dispensing will begin this month.

Jacobs

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has announced that it has been awarded a four year contract by Sadara Chemical Company for engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services. The contract value was not disclosed. Sadara is currently building the world’s largest chemical complex to ever be constructed in a single phase, with 26 world scale manufacturing plants, in Jubail Industrial City II, Saudi Arabia.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is providing both in and out of Kingdom EPCM services to Sadara. The in Kingdom services are being delivered from Jacobs’ local operations in Saudi Arabia with support from its extensive global network.

VNG

VNG Co, LLC has announced the addition of CNG fuelling at a Valero branded gasoline station located at 3411 Antonie Drive, Houston and a Shell branded gasoline station at 12977 Trinity Blvd. in Euless, outside of Dallas. Both stations feature a full service convenience store, and the Shell station offers a Subway restaurant. To mark the occasion, both locations will offer CNG by VNG for a limited time promotional price of 99 cents/gasoline gal. equivalent.
