Bermuda
Alliance Oil Company has announced that total production for Q3 2010 reached 4.3 million bbls. Total oil product sales reached 6.6 million bbls during the same period.
California
On Sunday 10th October a fire broke out at the Tesoro Golden Eagle refinery. The fire started in on diesel fuel tank at 12:20 pm and was extinguished by 3 pm.
India
Essar Energy Plc is looking in to buying refinery and storage facilities overseas. The company is looking to expand its cleaner burning fuels business and believes this move will help boost exports.
Louisiana
ExxonMobil Corp. has had to cut production rates at the Chalmette refinery due to a gas leak. The leak began on October 4th and contains hydrogen sulfide.
South Korea
Honam Petrochemical Corp. has announced that it will build a new chemical plant with joint venture partners Mitsubishi Chemical Corp., Japan. The facility will produce 100 tpy of catalysts for polypropylene production. The joint venture hope to have the plant online by the end of 2012.
Texas
Valero Energy Corp. has reported flaring at its Corpus Christi refinery to the Texas pollution regulators. The flaring reportedly occurred because of maintenance work at the refinery’s west plant.
Utah
The sulfur recovery unit at the Chevron Corp. owned Salt Late City refinery is now back online. The unit tripped offline at the beginning of October causing a release of emissions.
