NPRA has released the program details for its annual Reliability and Maintenance Conference and Exhibition, to be held in Denver, Colorado on May 24 – 27. Registration is still open and a form is available on the NPRA website.
The program includes:
Keynote address by Jeff “Odie” Espenship, Founder, Target Leadership.
Leadership creates and maintains the culture of the workplace, and the workers work within the norms of that culture. Leadership must set expectations high and monitor performance. This creates the workplace culture. Safety will come as a byproduct of operational excellence, and operational excellence will come as a byproduct of superb, value based leadership.
Professional development seminars
API 570, Mark Smith, MSTS
This one day seminar on in-service piping inspection, repairs, maintenance and alteration will summarise the highlights of the most important information on the subject, and provide the attendee with a number of ‘real world’ examples of solutions to issues one may encounter with piping systems. It is based on the recently published fourth edition of the API 570 Code, November 2009, which contains a significant amount of new material. This seminar is especially important because statistical data confirms that failure of piping systems is the most common form of equipment problems in the refining and process industries.
Reliability and integrity management of safety instrumented systems, Kathy Shell and Mike Scott, AE Solutions
This seminar focuses on the fundamentals of implementing the ISA-84.00.01(IEC 61511) Safety Lifecycle for the design, installation and integrity management of Safety Instrumented Systems. This seminar is suitable for plant managers, engineers, project managers, maintenance supervisors and technicians. It will expose participants to the safety lifecycle and its application to several real-world examples. Initial concepts will be presented to the class via instruction, and then reinforced through a series of worked examples and open classroom discussion.
