Indiana

CountryMark Refining and Logistics LLC has to pay US$ 167 000 civil penalty and perform US$ 180 000 in environmental updates as well as US$ 18 million on new pollution controls as a settlement for Clean Air Act violations. The violations were caused by modifications being made to the Mount Vernon refinery, Indiana.

John Crane

Shell has awarded John Crane a five year enterprise frame work agreement. Under this contract, John Crane will supply products and services to Shell’s upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas operations across the globe. John Crane will be the company’s key supplier of mechanical seals and seal support systems.

Oregon

A US$ 400 million gasoline processing unit has been added to the BP-Husky Refining LLC plant. The Reformer 3 unit was brought online in early February and is now fully operational.

Texas

After a period of maintenance at the Texas City refinery, Valero Energy Co. has announced that the plant has increased production and is now back online. The FCC unit had been shut down since January of this year.

Over the weekend, due to equipment failure, flaring occurred at Shell Oil Co’s Deer Park refinery. According to the report filed with the US National Response Center, the flare stack produced a release of acid gas.
