Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) to equip a new floating LNG (FLNG) unit, with a capacity of 238 700 m3.
The FLNG unit, which will be the second biggest in the world, will integrate eight LNG tanks equipped with the GTT’s Mark III membrane containment system.
The unit will be built at SHI’s shipyard in South Korea, on behalf of Eni (Eni East Africa SpA). After its planned delivery in 2021, the FLNG unit will be operated off the cost of Mozambique.
Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, said: "We are very pleased to be part of this new FLNG project. After the recent delivery of the very first FLNG and the up-coming delivery of the largest FLNG ever built, this award demonstrates GTT technologies are the solution of choice for these offshore LNG units."
