York County Natural Gas Authority CNG station receives LEED certification
The York County Natural gas Authority (YCNGA) in Rock Hill, South Carolina, has received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) v3.0 Silver Certification from the US Green Buildings Council for its recently completed two story customer centre and compressed natural gas (CNG) station.
This is the first CNG station in South Carolina to receive a LEED Certification.
LEED certification is a rating system designed by the US Green Buildings Council. It provides a third party certification that structures satisfy green building criteria in areas such as materials and resources, sustainable sites, innovation in design, and energy and atmosphere. LEED is considered the benchmark of sustainable construction standards.
Jim Heckle, President and CEO of YCNGA, said: ‘York County Natural Gas Authority is proud of this accomplishment and congratulates its employees and the worker involved in making this happen. The Authority’s objective is to be a leader in energy conservation.’
