Hydrocarbon Engineering,
The Sniffers received a corporate award from Petrobras for leak detection in its natural gas processing plants. The project consisted of infrared screening followed by quantification of the leaks. The Sniffers’ SFEMP software was used for the management of data. Reduction of CO2 emissions and cost reduction were achieved, which were crucial KPI’s for the customer.
Detecting and quantifying leaks in natural gas processing plants in Petrobras Bolivia (LDAR)
This practice consists of detecting leaks in plants and wells using special infrared cameras. Once the leakage is detected, it is measured and quantified by a specific team and identified for further processing by maintenance and instrumentation specialists. Leakage identification, results measurement, as well as work orders for repair, are recorded in a database and SFEMP software for its monitoring.
Results include reducing the leakage and emission of CO2 into the atmosphere, in addition to significant monetary savings for the company.
