Hydrocarbon Engineering,

A new leader has been appointed for the global expert in gas analysis, Servomex. Andy Cowan will replace Trevor Sands as the new president, having been promoted from his role as chief finance officer at Spectris’ Industrial Solutions Division (ISD).

He has also worked as the interim president of the ISD, as well as vice president for Finance and Business Development at the sister company Particle Measuring Systems.

Andy said: “I have been fortunate to get to know Servomex over the past six years through the roles I have been working in and I am very much looking forward to continuing the 70-year tradition of success that Servomex has enjoyed.

“I would like to thank Trevor Sands for all of his contributions in the past four years in bringing Servomex to where it is today and to wish him every future success in his new endeavours. His advice and counsel has always been important to me in my roles within ISD and it will be very welcome over the coming months.”

Outgoing president, Trevor, leaves to pursue other opportunities.

“I have decided that now is the time to pass the leadership baton over to the next president”, Trevor said. “Andy takes over with a tremendous skillset and a clear ambition to drive Servomex forward and I wish him the very best in a role that I have so enjoyed over the last four years.”

Mary Beth Syddons, President of ISD, Spectris added: “In his current role and previously as the interim ISD president, Andy has gained excellent knowledge of the Servomex business, its culture and opportunities. We could not think of anyone better suited to take over this role. The business is in a much better place due to Trevor’s many contributions and we are sure that, with a clear strategy and committed organisation, Andy will fully deliver Servomex’s strategy in the coming years.”
