China

Siemens is to provide a wastewater treatment system for the Sinopec owned Anqing refinery. A three tier system will be installed to treat salty and oily wastewater from refining and petrochemical production activities.

PetroChina has announced plans to shutdown a 100 00 bpd crude distillation unit at the Lanzhou refinery for maintenance. The unit will be taken offline for one month as of 20th June. Crude runs at the refinery will be cut to 189 800 bpd during this maintenance period.

Japan

The processing capacity of the No. 3 crude distillation unit at the Wakayama refinery was increased last month. The unit is now processing 136 000 bpd.

TonenGeneral Sekiyu KK made the increase on 26th May, the refinery owners, to help make up for the loss of refining capacity being experienced at facilities that were hit by the March earthquake.
