Cleanova lands filtration contract from Canadian gas producer

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Cleanova has won the contract to supply a 72-panel air intake filtration system to Canada’s largest producer of industrial, medical, and specialty gases.

The system will be based on Cleanova’s Dollinger filtration range and will ensure that the plant’s compressed air supply is kept free of contamination.

The gas manufacturer uses external ambient air for processing into individual gases such as oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen for use in energy, medical, and industrial applications. However, outside temperatures at the site in Canada can fall well below zero. The company therefore specified that an infrared heating element should be incorporated into the external filtration units to ensure that the intake air is warm enough to prevent the formation of ice or moisture that could compromise downstream compressor performance.

Cleanova worked with the customer to size and design a filtration solution to meet the project’s environmental and technical specifications. The new air intake filtration system will incorporate 72 filter panels and handle flow rates of up to 216 000 ft3 per minute. It will be based on Cleanova Dollinger AI-146 walk-in units, which simplify access for maintenance such as filter swap-outs.

Commenting on the contract win, Carlos Sanchez, Sales Manager, Filtration Americas, said: “This customer has been using our Dollinger brand filters for more than 30 years at various sites around the world. We are proud that they trust us to develop customised filtration solutions that support their exacting quality and sustainability standards. The new filtration system will provide clean air, protect downstream equipment, and safeguard end-product purity, contributing to our customer’s continued good reputation and profitability.”

The filtration units will be manufactured at Cleanova’s site in India. Delivery is scheduled for December 2025.
