Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. has announced its strategic investment and partnership with Jet Zero Australia, a leading company in the promotion of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in Queensland, Australia, and beyond.

This marks Idemitsu Kosan's first venture into an overseas SAF production project, signalling a significant step towards establishing a stable global SAF supply system through strategic knowledge acquisition and supply chain development.

Jet Zero is at the forefront of SAF production and raw material project initiatives, currently managing multiple projects in Australia. Among them, the PJ Ulysses project – which aims to transform agricultural by-products into 102 million litres of SAF annually – is the flagship project for Jet Zero. With the backing of Qantas Airways, Airbus, and the Queensland State Government among others, PJ Ulysses is set to become operational in 2027.

The collaboration between Idemitsu Kosan, Jet Zero, Qantas Airways, Airbus, and other partners focuses on the early implementation of SAF in Australia and the establishment of a comprehensive supply chain. As a strategic partner, Idemitsu Kosan will extend its efforts in securing a stable supply of SAF raw materials and share its extensive plant operation expertise for joint development projects.
