Greenkraft Inc., a California based manufacturer of alternative fuel trucks and alternative fuel systems has announced that it is modified a NiteHawk sweeper truck with a Greenkraft alternative fuel system. Greenkraft is a manufacturer of alternative fuel systems, and provided a natural gas system for a heavy duty sweeper truck to run on natural gas which will be used in a Californian city. The vehicle is unique in that it has steering on both sides of the truck. The truck was fitted with a 60 gas gallon equivalent fuel system. The truck was designed by NiteHawk and Greenkraft manufactured the alternative fuel system and installed it on the vehicle.

The Linde Group

Owners of hydrogen fuelled cars can now pull up to the Linde hydrogen pump at the Ramos Oil Company station in West Sacramento and fill their tanks just like any other vehicle. The station, equipped with state of the art technology developed by Linde North America Inc. has been designated as officially open by all relevant stakeholders and authorities.

Mike Beckman, VP of Hydrogen Fuelling, Linde North America inc. said, “this is truly a significant milestone in the advancement of hydrogen as an alternative fuel for cars. A hydrogen fuelling station is very different from the usual gasoline and diesel fuelling operations, requiring highly sophisticated equipment and special handling. Having been certified officially open, according to the new criteria, the station is the first in California and, in fact, the US, to receive this designation. But it didn’t come easy.”

Open designation only comes after a series of rigorous criteria have been met, including receipt of permits from all relevant authorities having jurisdiction, approval by the Department of Weights and Measures of the sale of hydrogen by the kilogram, and letters from at least two hydrogen fuel cell vehicle manufacturers confirming the station meets fuelling protocols and can be used to fuel their line of cars.
