Moeve announces 50% completion of 2G biofuels project

Moeve has announced that its new 2G biofuels plant in Palos de la Frontera, Huelva, Spain, is progressing as planned, with over 50% complete and the company expects to begin production by the end of 2026, as announced in a Linkedin post.

This facility will be part of the largest production complex for these renewable fuels in Southern Europe.

Some key figures include:

  • 220 000 m2 already built. €1.2 billion in accumulated investment.
  • Flexible production capacity of up to 500 000 tpy of SAF and HVO.
  • It will generate 2000 jobs in the region, both direct and indirect.
  • It will prevent 3 million tpy of CO2 emissions, equivalent to 4% of road transport emissions in Spain.
