Biodico, Inc., has issued the following statement from the company’s Founder and President Russ Teall regarding the signing of two pieces of landmark climate legislation by California Governor Brown, one which sets a new goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 40% below 1990 levels by 2030 and another that will make sure climate change policies benefit the most polluted communities in the state:
“The passage of this legislation arrives at a critical time for California, as we continue to seek innovative solutions for reducing greenhouse gases and reliance on fossil fuels. Climate bills SB 32 and AB 197 encourage government and businesses to come together to improve the environment and create jobs, particularity in economically disadvantaged areas.
“To achieve the legislation’s goal of reducing greenhouse gases, Biodico is moving forward rapidly with the development and deployment of our biofuel and renewable energy technology.
“We recently built the world’s first fully sustainable liquid biofuel facility in the San Joaquin Valley and are in the process of developing the world’s first ‘Zero Net Energy Farm,’ both of which will serve as templates for California and the country as a whole.
“By utilising local resources to generate biofuel and renewable energy in a fully integrated, modular and sustainable method, we are able to achieve a triple bottom line to improve the environment and create jobs in an economically viable way.”
