Desmet awarded contract for HVO pre-treatment plant in South Korea

Desmet has been awarded a new contract by LG-ENI Biorefining, a joint venture between LG Chem and ENI Italy, for a new HVO pre-treatment plant in South Korea.

In collaboration with the main contractor GS Engineering & Construction, Desmet will deliver the HVO pre-treatment plant in Daesan, South Korea.

This facility will feature cutting-edge technology for producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This plant will have an HVO pre-treatment, with a plant capacity to enable a production up to 340 000 t of SAF, bio-diesel and bio-naphtha annually from a variety of waste and used oils and fats feedstocks. This project is part of LG-ENI Biorefining's commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon emissions, contributing significantly to the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
