These works are part of the Refinery Development Master Plans (RDMP) launched by PT Pertamina to revitalise the Cilacap, Balongan, Dumai, and Balikpapan refineries to improve their production capacity and competitiveness.
The project aims to provide sustainable, clean, non-intermittent and affordable energy in the form of green hydrogen, green gas, and green power. The Wilhelmshaven Green Gas Terminal aims to provide 8.5% of Germany’s energy needs.
Once fully operational, the biorefinery will produce 180 000 bpd (2.6 billion gal./yr) of biofuel, and 405 000 tpy of green hydrogen.
The Power-to-Liquid synthesis technology, developed by Karlsruhe-based technology company INERATEC, will in future produce around 200 t of eFuels for road as well as rail transport and around 150 t of eWaxes for use in the cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food industries.
