Aster launches port and terminals business in Singapore

APT brings together a significant integrated storage and marine infrastructure platform in Singapore, comprising 13 marine wharves across Pulau Bukom and Pulau Ular, up to 4.3 million m³ of tank storage capacity, and a Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) capable of receiving Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) carrying up to 2 million bbl of oil.

As its first major investment, APT has awarded contracts to Overseas Technical Engineering and Construction Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of DIALOG Group Berhad (DIALOG), and PEC Pte. Ltd. (PEC) to rejuvenate and increase available crude oil storage tanks at Pulau Bukom by more than 1.3 million bbl of storage. The launch builds on more than 60 years of terminal operations at Bukom and marks Aster’s move to develop its infrastructure into a dedicated commercial platform serving both Aster and third-party customers.

APT selected PEC and DIALOG for their established track records in tankage and terminal infrastructure. PEC has specialised in plant and terminal engineering in Singapore since 1982, while DIALOG owns and operates midstream terminals across the region. Both were selected for their technical capabilities, safety performance and ability to execute alongside live refinery and marine operations after a competitive and robust process.
