Albemarle

Albemarle Corporation has announced that Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate & Government Affairs, and Corporate Secretary Karen G. Narwold, has been selected as a member of the 2015 DirectWomen Board Institute Class.

Luke Kissam, chief executive officer and president of Albemarle said, ‘on behalf of the entire Albemarle family, I congratulate Karen on being selected as a member of the DirectWomen Board Institute’s 2015 class. Karen has served as an invaluable member of Albemarle’s executive leadership team for four years. Chart

Chart Industries, Inc. has announced that Sasol has awarded its wholly owned subsidiary, Chart Energy & Chemicals, Inc., a contract for the supply of brazed aluminium heat exchangers (BAHX) and cold boxes for an ethane cracker at Lake Charles, Louisiana. The BAHX will be engineered and manufactured in Chart’s La Cross, Wisconsin plant and installed in cold boxes built at Chart’s dedicated facility in New Iberia, Louisiana, before final shipment to Lake Charles.

The Sasol owned cracker will produce an estimated 1.5 million tpy of ethylene and features Technip’s proprietary ethylene technology. The cracker benefits from low natural gas prices in the US coupled with an abundance of ethane from natural gas liquids rich shale formations, which are driving the industry. Chart’s BAHX and cold box equipment is fundamental to cryogenic processing; a key stage in the liquefaction and processing of natural gas and separation and high value natural gas liquids.

ENI

Petroleos Mexicanos’ CEO, Emilio Lozoya Austin, and Eni’s CEO, Claudio Descalzi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation that establishes the basis for cooperation and knowledge sharing in the upstream, midstream and downstream areas. The MoU will also include cooperation and best practice exchange in Health, Safety & Environment as well as Human Capital management and training. During the meeting, a possible future strategic partnership in Mexico’s upstream sector was discussed.

Foster Wheeler

Foster Wheeler AG has announced that Foster Wheeler South Africa (Pty) Limited (FWSA), a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group, has received its fifth consecutive NOSCAR award in recognition of FWSA’s occupational risk management system and occupational health and safety performance. The prestigious award was presented on 11 September at a special ceremony hosted by NOSA, in Drakensberg, South Africa. The NOSCAR award recognises organisations that continuously commit to providing safe and healthy work environments for employees and is the highest rating in the NOSA system. FWSA’s total score for the 2013 audit, which forms the basis of its fifth consecutive NOSCAR award, was 96.08%, even better than its 2012 award winning score.

KBR

KBR Inc. has announced that its joint venture partnership with PT Rekayasa Industri, JGC Corporation and PT JGC Indonesia, the RJK JV, has been awarded the onshore front end engineering and design (FEED) contract by BP for a third liquefaction train at the Tagguh LNG project in West Papua province, Indonesia. The expansion project follows the successful completion in 2009 of the two train Tangguh LNG plant and associated facilities by a joint venture partnership between JCG Corporation, KBR and PT Pertafenikki Engineering (KJP JV). The project, located in remote Bintuni Bay, was the largest capital development project ever undertaken in Indonesia and involved the successful delivery of community, local content, environmental and safety performance.
