Wison Offshore and Marine Ltd has announced the delivery of its first batch of modules for the key modularised components construction of the Petroleos De Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) RPLC refinery project, achieving a significant progress in the project execution, that lays a good foundation for meeting the high quality performance and on time delivery for subsequent batches of modules as per the client’s requirement.

This is part of the contract awarded by Hyundai-Wison consortium (a consortium of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd., Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. and Wison Engineering Ltd.) to supply key modularised components including pipe racks and equipment modules. Under the agreement, Wison Offshore & Marine is responsible for the shop drawing, material procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and load out.

There are altogether 94 modules including stick built, which are to be delivered in 9 batches. The first batch of modules and stick-built totaling 2600 t will be used for the interconnection units and vacuum distillation units of the refinery plant. During project execution, Wison’s project team has the experience and established a set of mechanisms such as to perform high level of dimensional accuracy control for the module construction, to provide effective protection for the final paintwork of structural and piping components, to execute hoisting operation of large modules and to optimise the module fabrication processes, so as to minimise difficulties of final on-site installation for these modules. Currently the second batch of the modules is undergoing hydro-test and shall be delivered end of November 2015, followed by progressive delivery with an interval of one month per shipment.

"The successful delivery of key modularised components for RPLC refinery plant will play an important role in Wison Offshore & Marine’s achieving its strategic position as a global leading large modules supplier,” said Mr. An Wenxin, Senior Vice President of Wison Offshore & Marine. ” With the support from all the partners, we will fully leverage our resources to ensure high quality performance and on time delivery.”
