Golder Associates has announced that Dr Elisabeth Culbard is its new Managing Director in the UK and Ireland. Upon leaving engineering and construction company, Bechtel, where she was Head of Sustainability and Vice President, Dr Culbard commences her new role at Golder on 10 August 2015.

In the UK and Ireland, Golder works alongside large domestic and international companies in the mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, energy and manufacturing sectors.

Dr Culbard has over 30 years of experience as an environmental scientist. She is a technical specialist in sustainability, environmental and social impact assessments, project planning, and project management. Moreover, Dr Culbard has played a vital role in demonstrating the commercial value of sustainability throughout engineering projects.

Welcoming Dr Culbard to Golder, Jean-François Bolduc, President of Golder in Europe, said: “Golder is an ambitious, global consultancy and leads the way in best practice across many industry sectors. This appointment is aligned with our intent of further embedding technical excellence and high quality standards in our professional services, which we deliver on infrastructure and natural resources development projects locally and around the world.”

Dr Culbard commented: “Having been a client of Golder Associates at various points in my career, I have seen first-hand the quality of work and individual technical expertise that represents Golder. I know that it is one of the most respected consulting and engineering firms out there and I think that coming from the industry side I can provide a fresh perspective on Golder’s role in the broader supply chain. In my career to date I have been fortunate to experience a variety of roles at the heart of the nexus between engineering, finance and environmental services. I very much look forward to using this understanding in my work with Golder’s technical experts and project managers, and in helping the business to grow and excel.”
