Hydrocarbon Engineering,
Sandvik will join leading industry professionals at this year’s 9th annual Global Refining and Petrochemical Summit for downstream industry experts, to help them stay abreast of the latest developments in the refining of hydrocarbons. The conference and expo will be held at The Hague, Netherlands between 20-22 April.
Aside from exhibiting its advanced stainless steel alloys for heat exchangers, u-bended tubes and welding wire, Sandvik will also give an exclusive presentation titled ‘Solving And Preventing Corrosion Obstacles In Refineries And Petrochemical Plants’ to be hosted by Eduardo Perea, Global Business Developer, Sandvik Materials Technology – Tube.
Eduardo Perea said, “Sandvik is seeing increasing needs for materials that are more resistant to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion, and highly resistant to general corrosion in refineries. Furthermore, these advanced materials must offer real cost savings based on performance and the frequency of plant shutdowns.”
“I look forward to showing visitors at the Global Refining and Petrochemical Summit how Sandvik grades are solving many of the problems faced by the oil refining industry today, such as corrosion issues that are aggravated by the ongoing decline in crude oil quality and which cause failures in traditional materials.”
Sandvik duplex stainless steels demonstrate superior corrosion resistant properties in harsh environments with excellent mechanical properties and good processing performance. The grades have exhibited longer service life for highly competitive cost advantages, shown in success stories in refineries around the world.
Stainless heat exchanger tubes by Sandvik can be delivered as u-bent tubes and tailored to customer specifications. Copies of all specifications are available on request. Sandvik offers a complete package of welding products for welding of austenitic stainless steels, duplex stainless steels and nickel alloys.
