One of the world’s leading producers of high performance filtration and separation technology has opened a new subsidiary in India. The new business, incorporated as a majority-owned joint venture with a local company, will support its ongoing activities at India’s largest refinery and expand its wider interests.

Porvair Filtration Group has embarked on the long-term agreement with Mascot Dynamics Pvt Ltd in India as it looks to ensure that Reliance Industries’ Jamnagar refinery has access to the best possible support for char filtration equipment and services.

The new joint venture company is already contracted to deliver filter cleaning equipment and services to Reliance after Porvair developed a highly efficient automated machine that applies a number of dedicated cleaning stages to char filter assemblies at the refinery.

The agreement will also see Porvair and Mascot working closely together to develop new filtration business opportunities in India, based on the filtration specialist’s wide range of products manufactured in the UK and USA.

Porvair, honoured with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade last year, began working with Reliance Industries in 2013, providing advanced char filtration systems.

It later supplied performance-enhancing operational spares to Jamnagar – the world’s largest refinery and petrochemicals complex built from the ground up – further heightening efficiency through durability, extension of operating life, and lowered costs.

The filtration leader is discussing a range of options and improvements to the equipment and processes within Reliance’s existing gasification systems, and if these go ahead the new joint venture company will be pivotal in their delivery.

Tom Liddell, Porvair’s Managing Director, said: “We are confident that our joint venture agreement with Mascot Dynamics will help to anchor our existing relationship with Reliance Industries, while securing significant new business in India.

“It reinforces and extends our commitment to delivering industry-leading gasification solutions in Asia, allowing us to embark on a more ambitious growth strategy as we look to expand into multiple regions.

“Mascot Dynamics’ knowledge and distribution network, combined with our innovation and expertise, will make for a strong partnership that will serve to deliver an exceptional service.

“We firmly believe that it’s the start of an exciting new chapter in the expansion of our Indian business interests as we continue to look for opportunities for further growth.”

Porvair Filtration Group – which has supplied the aerospace, nuclear, energy, process and bioscience industries with performance-driven filtration equipment for nearly 50 years – manufactures in both the UK and USA and has an extensive network of sales offices and distribution channels throughout the world.
