INOVA introduces the UNIVIB 2 vibrator and G3i HD recording system

Published by , Editor
Hydrocarbon Engineering,

INOVA Geophysical has introduced 2 new products: the UNIVIB 2 vibrator and the G3i HD cable-based recording system. Both of these additions represent an integral part of INOVA's Clarity Broadband™ Solution, a complete portfolio of broadband technologies for the seismic industry.

UNIVIB 2, the most powerful vibrator in its class, generates up to 34 000 lbs of peak force while its compact footprint allows it to maneuver easily through dense terrains and environmentally sensitive areas with minimal impact. The vibrator's new 173 HP diesel engine is available in multiple options including an engine package that is certified to meet the latest EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage 4 emissions regulations. The UNIVIB 2 also features a new advanced cab design that emphasises safety, ergonomics, and on-board diagnostics.

G3i HD, the newest version of INOVA's highly successful G3i cable-based system, further addresses the needs of oil and gas companies for maximising efficiencies during data acquisition on land and transition zone environments. The recording system's scalable architecture enables greater versatility than other recording systems currently available in the industry. G3i HD delivers up to 240 000 channels to support the higher density surveys utilising complex, high productivity vibroseis (HPVS) methods. Furthermore, G3i HD is compatible and can be complemented with INOVA's Hawk® autonomous nodal system for increased coverage of the target area or for infill applications as terrain access becomes limited.

Carey Mogdan, INOVA's Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing and Customer Service, stated, "These two new products enhance the level of operational flexibility for our customers. From small to extremely large channel count projects, we can meet our customers' needs to obtain the clearest images of the subsurface. In addition, the reliability and performance of our products will help decrease the overall costs of projects in the long term. The integration of our source products, recording systems, and digital sensors allows INOVA to offer the complete solution for land seismic acquisition."
