One of the world's largest companies in the oil and gas sector has saved more than a million dollars thanks to security solutions from Qognify, formerly NICE Security, that enable the organisation to remotely monitor and manage security for 25 locations. In its first year using Qognify security solutions, the company saved US$1.2 million, and it anticipates even greater savings in 2016.
The company, which spent US$8 million annually in guard costs prior to implementing the Qognify solutions, now uses Qognify Situator and NiceVision to remotely monitor sites, including asset storage locations, transportation hubs, shipping and receiving locations, manufacturing facilities, education centres, and administration buildings.
By moving work that was previously conducted by onsite security guards to the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC), the company has cut costs by 15%. The situator connects and correlates access control, intercoms, analytics, cameras, and other systems and sensors, and brings realtime situational awareness to the GSOC so operators can manage day to day security tasks more efficiently and effectively.
"In most large organisations, security is viewed as a cost centre with little positive impact on the bottom line, but not so for this progressive company," said Moti Shabtai, President of Qognify. "Through its innovative use of Qognify security solutions, the company has been able to better secure its remote sites and produce significant savings in the process. In so doing, the company has shifted from a security-centric model to one that incorporates operational efficiencies through its ability to positively impact the bottom line."
