AccessESP introduces rigless ESP system

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

AccessESP has revealed its next generation, rigless ESP conveyance system, Access375. This represents a paradigm shift in rigless ESP conveyance with the following unique features:

  • Access375 is the fourth generation, single section, permanent magnet motor and is one fifth the length and weight of a conventional induction motor. This one-piece design eliminates the need for tandem and triple motors, significantly reducing system complexity, leading to higher reliability simpler installation.
  • The technology is comprised of a robust and rugged mechanical design based on the adoption of components and techniques proven throughout the last twenty years in the MWD/LWD and the completions industries.
  • It encompasses a ‘no-compromise’ product design and qualification philosophy. Access375 is built and qualified for challenging, offshore and remote location applications, utilizing technologies and components not practical in most operating environments.

This new technology builds on the benefits of AccessESP’s previous generation of rigless ESP conveyance systems. Benefits include full-bore access to the reservoir, compatibility with all major ESP providers’ equipment (including VSDs and pumps), and live well ESP installation and removal using conventional slickline, coil tubing or a wireline tractor. This results in maximised production uptime with reduced costs, time and complexity of ESP intervention.

“We are very excited about the introduction of Access375,” commented David Malone, AccessESP president and chief executive officer (CEO). “This system is a game-changing technology that makes ESP systems economical through the replacement of rig based ESP intervention with light, portable slickline equipment.”
