Hydrocarbon Engineering,
Howden American Fan Co. has announced the availability of a wide range of fan product lines ideal for serving industrial boilers, gas turbine installations, and heat-recovery steam generators in combined cycle installations. Howden works closely with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to supply high quality industrial products. The company also offers start-up and commissioning and after-market service and repairs.
Howden’s direct-drive fans comprise the popular industry-standard AF line of cast aluminum medium pressure blowers, nine types of backwardly inclined fans, and turbo pressure blowers and industrial exhausters. Also available are dual skid-mounted fan assemblies, including two fans connected to a common diverter damper, all mounted on a common unitary channel sub-base.
Howden has designed turbo pressure blowers with an inlet filter silencer as well as an integral damper for flow control. Howden has also provided special nondestructive structural integrity testing and certification of the wheel and shaft to ensure the equipment will be long-lasting and stand up to its intended use.
Howden also builds fans with housing percentage widths at 5% increments from 60-100%. Changing the fan construction so it can handle lower volumes without slowing fan speed eliminates any need for use of a belt drive, which can reduce maintenance costs.
