Amec Foster Wheeler has announced the completion of its second annual ITB-Amec Foster Wheeler Oil & Gas Training Programme in Brunei. The programme is a collaborative initiative, which was developed under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two companies in November 2013.

Amec Foster Wheeler’s Oil & Gas industry experts delivered the course to 100 third and fourth year undergraduates from the Faculty of Engineering, School of Business, and School of Computing and Informatics.

By providing an overview of contemporary industry practices the course is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial knowledge at university level. It comprises six customised modules in engineering, project finance, procurement and contracting, project control, quality assurance and control, and project management.

ITB Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor, Dr Hjh Zohrah Hj Sulaiman, presented the certificates to students at a ceremony in Brunei attended by senior Amec Foster Wheeler and ITB representatives.

Amec Foster Wheeler’s Group President for Asia, Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe, Roberto Penno, said: “We have a long-standing partnership with the Institut Teknologi Brunei and I’m pleased to say this is the second successful training programme we have delivered together. We are delighted to be able to apply our expertise to support the development of people in Brunei in the oil and gas industry and look forward to delivering future programmes in the country”.
