CUI Global completes GasPT analyser test

CUI Global Inc. has successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test of its GasPT® analysers.

The GasPT analyser provides a low cost solution to measure gas quality. When connected to a natural gas system, the GasPT analyser affords the operator a fast, accurate, close to real-time measurement of physical gas properties. From these measurements the device infers an effective gas mixture comprising five components: methane, ethane, propane, nitrogen, and measured carbon dioxide and then uses ISO6976 to calculate, among other things, the gas quality characteristics of calorific value (CV), Wobbe index (WI), relative density (RD), and compression factor (Z).

Immediately following the FAT, Nicola Giorgio Sorrentino, Socrate's Chief Executive Officer, commented: "Today is a significant milestone on our journey to deliver the GasPT analysers to Snam Rete Gas and it really shows the momentum that there is behind this programme. The GasPT will be the backbone of Snam's new metering system, providing accurate, real-time data in a manner not previously available with existing instruments."
