Hydrocarbon Engineering,

The way in which digitalisation is now affecting the pump and compressor industry is only the beginning. The road ahead, with its potential and its challenges, will be at the heart of the International Rotating Equipment Conference 2016. That is why the plenary lecture will examine the topic. It will be delivered by Dr. Oliver Grün, founder und managing partner of leading German software provider GRÜN Software AG.

Dr Grün will show how digital technologies can provide new opportunities to produce enhanced value and drive up revenue streams, throughout the chain of activities. He will explore to what extent digital business models have entered the world of pumps and compressors, as well as that of their customers, eg. the process industry. This new business approach will be a key enabler to achieve further progress on ‘traditional’ pump and compressor topics such as sustainability of products, better reliability and enhanced energy efficiency.

”Our plenary lecture zooms in on how we can share company data with the value added partners, whilst ensuring that these will not be used by unauthorized third parties,” informs Christoph Singrün, Managing Director at VDMA Pumps & Systems as well as Compressors, Compressed Air and Vacuum Technology.

The 3rd International Rotating Equipment Conference – Pumps, Compressors and Vacuum Technology is organised by VDMA Pumps & Systems as well as VDMA Compressors, Compressed Air and Vacuum Technology. It will take place in the Congress Centre of Düsseldorf, Germany, from 14 - 15 September 2016, with three forums under one roof. These are the Pump Users International Forum, the Compressor Users International Forum and the EFRC (European Forum for Reciprocating Compressors) conference. A presence of more than 800 visitors at the previous convention has generated a keen interest in the upcoming edition across the sector.

Alongside the technical exhibition, new developments will be shown and discussed in parallel sessions, based on technical papers. New solutions will be on display, as well as new applications, cost saving ideas, and ways to improve communication between users and manufacturers, all on a neutral basis.
