Endress + Hauser on functional safety
Endress + Hauser have released a new video on level limit detection with the use of its Liquiphant technology.
Liquiphant offers level limit detection with a safety window. A sensor in the form of a tuning fork is excited at its resonant frequency. The oscillating frequency changes as the fork enters the medium. The change is then analysed and translated into a switching signal. The Liquiphant can be used with all pumpable liquids in a universal manner, even in build-up conditions.
The video reveals more about this product offering:
Another recently released video from the company features a short introduction on functional safety (SIL) more generally. Micropilot, Deltabar and Liquiphant products are discussed in relation to process safety, with particular focus on continuous self-monitoring, homogeneous redundancy and proof testing.
