Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Andionics has launched SELECTEX®, a selective extraction solution for water deionisation. SELECTEX stands for selective extraction and is a derivation of Adionics’ AquaOmnes® technology.

SELECTEX is able to pick out able to pick out from high saline waters one or two or three cations such as sodium, potassium, calcium, strontium or barium as neutral salts, to meet the process specification, while the other ones are left in the treated water. This approach is expected to become a major breakthrough in many industries such as pharmaceutical, chemicals, mining, and oil and gas.

Theirry Darde, EVP Sales and Marketing, Andionics, said: “Thanks to SELECTEX, in the field of the oil and gas business for instance, our solution is able to treat high saline waters such as produced water and remove some salts based on calcium and/or strontium and/or barium, or even sulfate when other ones, based on sodium and/or chloride are left in the treated water. This new approach in the world of Enhanced Oil Recovery is expected to become a major breakthrough for this industry. The first pilots are to be implemented in the field in 2016.”
