On 16 March, Invista kicked off its new “A Good Day” programme at the Shanghai Petrochemical Academy in Jinshan District, Shanghai. The programme features lectures and interactive events that help connect students to Invista’s environmental health and safety philosophy and best practices.
“As one of the major international enterprises in Jinshan District, cooperation with Shanghai Petrochemical Academy to share Invista’s sustainability vision while enhancing education and environmental awareness will contribute to Invista’s long term success in Jinshan District,” said Chua Choo Ching, Invista plant manager. “Invista is deploying its most advanced production technologies at new hexamethylene diamine (HMD) and nylon 6,6 polymer facilities making them among the most energy efficient nylon intermediates sites in the world. The sites are expected to start in late 2015 and early 2016, respectively.”
Lin Guoxin, Vice Principal at Shanghai Petrochemical Academy commented, “We believe our students and teachers will deepen their understanding of environmental protection, occupational health, and fire and emergency safety through participation in Invista’s ’A Good Day’ programme. This practical knowledge is critical for future chemical professionals.”
