End of September update: Asia and the Pacific Rim
Australia
ExxonMobil will shut its Altona refinery for planned maintenance next week. The Melbourne facility will undergo a turnaround during October an November and is expected to be brought back online in 6 weeks time. The facility has a production capacity of 12 million ltrs/d.
India
Reliance Industries has shut a light cycle oil hydrocracker and a vacuum gas oil hydrotreater at its biggest plant for maintenance. The units will be off line at the 580 000 bpd facility for approximately 4 weeks.
Indonesia
Pertamina has announced expansion plans for its Cilacap, Central Java refinery. The company has set aside US$ 800 million for the project work which will add an additional 61 000 bpd to the capacity which currently stands at 350 000 bpd.
Singapore
Shell has now suspended production at its largest oil refinery in Singapore after a huge fire that lasted two days. The fire broke out on the afternoon of September 28th but has now been extinguished. 80 firefighters tackled the blaze over the two days the facility was alight.
