PIS and PT Badak NGL sign MoU to support the development of the LNG sector

Domestic LNG business potential continues to grow, starting from distribution for power generation needs, LNG needs in domestic refineries, industrial needs, and smelters.

The PIS and Badak NGL cooperation agreement was signed by the Business Planning Director of PIS, Wisnu Medan Santoso, and the Director & CEO of PT Badak NGL, Gema Iriandus Pahlawan, on 24 May 2022.

The signing of this MoU consists of, but is not limited to:

• Ship-shore Compatibility Study (SSCS) related to LNG distribution, which is projected to transport LNG cargo from Bontang Terminal in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
• FEED, EPCC, operation, and maintenance terminal/STS LNG or LPG.
• Green terminal for SH IML's terminal development.

"As a form of commitment to continue expanding its business competence, PIS needs to expand in the control of LNG terminal technology by cooperating with a fellow Pertamina Group company that is competent in the LNG business, PT Badak NGL. This is also in line with increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of compatibility between terminals and ships," said Acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, Roberth MV Dumatubun.

In addition to encouraging synergies within the Pertamina Group, the development cooperation in the LNG and green terminal businesses also supports Pertamina's commitment to implementing Environment, Sustainability, & Governance (ESG) to maintain business sustainability in the future.
