Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Petroplus

On Wednesday 27th October workers at the Petroplus owned Petit Couronne refinery voted to end their strike action. Fuel began leaving the refinery that afternoon however; production at the facility will not begin until the Le Havre oil terminal is up and running again.

Total

Also on Wednesday 27th, Total announced that they are in the first stages of restarting the La Mede refinery. Processing at the refinery was called to a halt on 10th October due to the limited supplies of crude that were being shipped from the Fos port.

LyondellBasell

Early on the 28th October, workers LyondellBasell’s refinery in southeast France called an end to their protests and cleared a blockade from outside the plant’s depot.

Continuing action

Despite the end to the above strikes and protests, there are still blockades and protesting workers at six of France’s 12 refineries and two oil ports and still unable to receive deliveries.
